Connecting My Domain to Google Blogger

I had my own domain but wasn't using it. I decided it was time to connect it to my blog, so I've outlined the steps below.

1. I accessed the domain purchase site and navigated to the ‘DNS Record Settings’ menu.

A record settings handle server connections, while CNAME record settings handle the actual connection to my blog.

2. In the A record settings, I entered the four IP addresses provided by Blogger:

216.239.32.21

216.239.34.21

216.239.36.21

216.239.38.21

I entered these four IP addresses.

3. Returned to Blogger and entered my domain in the ‘Custom Domain’ section under ‘Publish’ in the admin page. (www.mydomain.com)

A pop-up window then provided two addresses for setting the CNAME records.

4. Return to the domain purchase site and set the CNAME records shown in the pop-up window earlier.

One is 'ghs.google.com', and the other seems to be different for each user. Since the addresses are complex, just copy and paste them.

5. Verify that both the A record and CNAME settings are correct on your domain registrar site.

6. Return to Blogger and enable ‘Domain Redirection’ under ‘Publish’.

7. Under ‘HTTPS’, enable both ‘Use HTTPS’ and ‘HTTPS Redirection’.

8. Confirm that your blog now connects correctly via the updated domain.

All procedures are now complete.
